For the first time ever, Davis will be represented in our nation's oldest and most prestigious soccer tournament.
After a standout 2019 campaign, FC Davis received a bid to the 2020 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup and will take the field against teams from the MLS, USL, NPSL and open division qualifiers.
The single elimination, nation-wide knockout tournament brings together the best teams in the country to find out which club is the top side in the United States.
The Lion's first game will take place on Wednesday, March 25th when FC Davis visits historic San Francisco side Olympic Club. The first round match-up will kick-off 7:30pm at Negoesco Stadium on the campus of USF.
Should the Lion's advance to the second round, they would host USL side Reno 1868 at Ron and Mary Brown stadium on the campus of Davis High School. Last season Reno finished second in the USL Western Conference, five positions ahead of local rival Sacramento Republic. The match will take place on Wednesday, April 8th at 7:30pm.
In the third round, MLS teams enter. That would potentially see the Lion's hit the field against MLS side San Jose Earthquakes.
All games will be available on ESPN +.
A full breakdown of the tournament can be found on the US Soccer website.
