FC Davis is proud to announce the 2019 High School Boys Soccer All-Area Team.
The FC Davis High School Boys Soccer All-Area Team selects top performers from the following high schools:
Davis High School
Dixon High School
Pioneer High School
Winters High School
Woodland High School
In the near future, player selections will expand to Vacaville High School and Wood High School.
Every year, two players will be selected off the All-Area Team and rostered on FC Davis in a program called NEXT.
NEXT players will train, travel and have the chance to represent FC Davis on the field during the NPSL regular season and post season play.
2019 NEXT selections are:
Gerardo Perez-Plata - Pioneer High School
The 2019 FC Davis All-Area Player of the Year was a lynch-pin in leading Pioneer High School to a record of 15-3. Saving his best for the post-season, Perez-Plata provided lasting memories with his acrobatic saves and PK shootout heroics. A fiery, passionate, and vocal leader, Gerardo leaves a standard between the posts that every goal keeper in our local area should strive for.
“Hands down one of the best goalkeepers our area has ever produced,” said FC Davis owner Adam Lewin. “Not only is Gerardo a class keeper on the field, he is equally as impressive off it. He represents the best of what the game has to offer as a player and person. Gerardo is a rare talent that only comes around every so often. He does the spectacular so often it's easy to take for granted just how good he is until he's gone. Undoubtedly, Pioneer has some big shoes to fill in front of the net when next winter comes around.”
Carsen Quick - Davis High School
A versatile, calm, and collected midfielder, Carsen Quick led the Blue Devils to an unlikely playoff birth after DHS lost a bevy of talent following the 2018 season. Leading the playoff charge was Quick who filled any and all needs Davis had on a game-to-game basis. Known for his relaxed demeanor, Carsen possesses an array of skills that made him an invaluable player to the Blue Devils post season push.
“We recommend any high school player aspiring to play on FC Davis to watch how Carsen conducts himself on the field,” said FC Davis owner Adam Lewin. “Simple. Two touch. Technical. Accurate passer. Hard tackler. Limited turnovers. He has perfected the art of doing the little things right that are demanded at higher levels of play. Best of all, his work ethic and attitude are exactly what we see in players who succeed in this game long term. We see a bright future for Carsen and are happy to play a part in his development process.”
