The 2020 NPSL Golden Gate Conference schedule was released early Monday morning and the Golden Lions title defense begins with a bang!
On February 29th, FC Davis hits the road for the first round of the 2020 Causeway Clasico. The Sacramento Gold play host to the reining Golden Gate Conference Champions at 7:00 PM for a massive early season clash.
On March 28th Davis hosts their first match of the 2020 campaign when El Farolito visits town. The powerhouse club from San Francisco pushed the Lions to the brink last season. Davis was lucky to escape with a win after El Farolito saw a red card late in the match. Lizandro Torres capitalized while a man up to give Davis a 1-0 victory.
This year four teams from the Golden Gate will make the conference playoffs.
The Golden Gate Conference tournament takes place on June 20th (semi-finals) and June 27th (finals).
The winner of the Golden Gate Conference playoffs receives a bid to the West Region Semi-Finals.
The West Region Semi-Finals will take place July 11th and include the winner of the Golden Gate, Northwest and Southwest Conferences. The Regional Final takes place July 18th.
After producing a West Region champion, the title winning club will earn a spot in the NPSL National Semi-Finals which takes place July 25th.
The 2020 NPSL National Final takes place August 1st.
