Another year and another title for the Davis High girls soccer program.
After a 12-2-3 season, head coach Sara Stone saw the Blue Devils bid for an unprecedented fifth straight Sac-Joaquin title cut short by River City.
Seniors Grace Carlson, Sydney Moore and Lily Byrne were accompanied by juniors Megan Looney, Summer Baron and Franchesca Bolivar to give Davis their sixth straight Delta League title after posting an 10-1-1 league record. That secured Davis a No.1 overall seed in the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs.
The team will lose firepower next season, most notably DHS star Lily Byrne as she takes her talents to Colorado College next fall. The Devils will return a core of to-be seniors that will be supported by a talented group of sophomores and juniors. Next years roster should see DHS in the drivers seat for another league and Sac-Joaquin title push.
