Lionesses Return To Action June 1st. Roster Announced.

The wait will soon be over for the Lionesses.

On June 1st, FC Davis takes the field for their 2022 season opener when Sacramento Storm visits the friendly confines of Playfields.

Opening night will mark the second season for the Lionesses, who will be stacked full of talent for the summer. The team will have a ten game regular season, with five home and five away matches.

New to the WPSL scene are two familiar NPSL clubs, Napa Valley 1839 and Academica SC. Napa will be in the same division (North) as FC Davis, while Academica SC will reside on the South side of the division. Davis and Napa will face off twice in the regular season.

In total there are 13 clubs competing for the PAC North Conference title, with the winner moving onto the regional finals.

FC Davis returns many faces from their entertaining 2021 squad including UC Davis stars Leslie Fregoso and Franke Van Norden, Woodland standouts Ari Coronado (CBU) and Alexa Madueno (SDSU), and Davis High superstars Alana Curtis (UC Davis), Lily Byrne (Colorado College), and Skye Shaffer (UCSB).

The Lionesses welcome a host of new faces to the team including a bevy of Sacramento State stars, highlighted by Elk Grove standouts Abby Lopez and Dana Restom. Also included in the group is Chico State All-American Susanna Garcia, Vacaville product Erika Tilford (CSUS), and Sacramento area high school standout and Stanford commit Alyssa Savig. A full list of FC Davis will be released on May 1st.

This Sunday, FC Davis will open our annual Lioness Club, which seeks 100 individuals and families to contribute $100 to reach our yearly goal of $10,000 to support our female athletes during the summer. Last season, our Founding Members group raised over $11,000 in support of our inaugural WPSL season.
