Lions Look To Go Clear In First This Wednesday Night

After a break in action due to the heat, FC Davis men took the field on Sunday night for the clubs first ever match against Contra Costa FC.

The Lions took home three points after a convincing 2-0 victory which put the team in prime position for the first overall seed heading into the Golden Gate Conference Playoffs beginning July 31st.

Davis (12 points) has a game in hand on El Farolito (13 points) and Academica SC (13 points) heading into the final week of the regular season.

On Wednesday, Davis can catapult ahead of both teams when the Lions host Sonoma Sol at 7:30pm for a vital weekday match.

Should the Lion's win, the team will be in sole possession of first place leading into the weekends prime time match-up.

The opponent?

Top of the table Academica SC.

If Davis beats Sonoma on Wednesday, a win or tie against Academica SC will provide home field through out the Golden Gate Conference Playoffs.

A loss could see the Lions slip to second or third place depending on the result of El Farolito's match against Napa Valley 1839, who currently sit in fourth place and can reach as high as second place with a victory of their own.

It doesn't get much tighter than this as FC Davis closes the regular season and marches towards the playoffs!

A two game ticket special will be available for the next 48 hours! See both home matches for $10 by clicking on the link here.
