The 2024 UPSL season begins this Saturday night as Dixon Leon visits FC Davis in an eagerly anticipated early season derby match.
The Lions will look to start the season strong, banking on the experience of midfielder Matt Martinez and their trio of attacking talents, spearheaded by the speed of Tyler Bell. Meanwhile, Davis will have to navigate the absence of key players such as Ty Shikashio, JP Herrera, and Benett Olsen-Zwick, all sidelined for the opening fixture. Filling their roles will be a host of new talent, including promising midfielder Roan Goertz and imposing center back Aiden Albertalli.
Dixon Leon will be looking to make an instant impact in the Premier Division. After a stellar 2023 fall campaign, Leon was promoted behind a talented group of players led by head coach Rudy Baltazar.
It will be a memorable first match between the two clubs, who clash for the first time in a competitive game. Kickoff is 7:00pm at Playfields, with gates opening at 6:15pm. Woodstock's will be serving pizza, soft drinks, wine and beer.
