After 15 months away from competitive action, FC Davis will take the field Saturday night at 7:00pm when the Golden Lions visit Napa Valley 1839.
With a two month preseason complete, the men from Davis will look to kick-off the 2021 return to play series with a win while starting their march towards a #1 seed in the Golden Gate Conference Playoffs.
"We are ready," said FC Davis defender Ty Shikashio. "The boys are ready. The jerseys are ready. The shoes are ready. We are ready to take the field. We've been ready and itching to play for over a year."
The Lions have added talent to an already deep roster that will put the team in contention for a high playoff seed from the first kick of the ball.
The Golden Gate Conference, historically the deepest and most competitive conference in the country, has showed no signs of let up with clubs adding quality up and down their rosters. Napa Valley, a team that starts every season in top form, is no exception.
The last time Davis and Napa met, the Lion's game out on top with a decisive 5-2 victory. Returning a high powered offense, the Lion's will look to score early and start 2021 where they left off during their Golden Gate Conference championship winning season.
